Gianni’s has always been an Ocean Drive classic. It might be a bit of a high class tourist trap, but it’s worth going at least once. The restaurant is inside the former Versace Mansion, and you’ll be dining right by the iconic tiled pool. They serve Mediterranean style food, and if you are there for lunch I would highly recommend their three course $30 lunch special. The property is very unique and picturesque. The walls are full of mosaic designs in vibrant colors. Besides the pool area, there are plenty of nice spots to take photos, so I would encourage exploring a bit. You should know, I always try to be fair and honest to my readers, therefore I must give one critique. Although it was visually beautiful, I was hoping for a better ambiance. There wasn’t any mood music playing, only the loud music from the restaurant beside it which kind of killed the vibe for me. Overall, I think Gianni’s is a great excuse to dress nice and enjoy an over priced coattail right in the heart of South Beach. Keep in mind that if you plan on visiting this Miami beauty, a reservation is required. As I was making my way out of the former designer’s residence, I began to ask myself, could this fabulous home be a glimpse into my future?
